Recently I was reading a thread on a very popular Network Marketing forum and the question was posed… “Exhausted my WARM market. Now what do you do?”
I find this question very interesting because I hear it all the time from the members of my own team.
Allow me to offer the following analogy if I may, as to all of our “Warm & Cold Markets.”
Everyone that has been involved in the industry for any length of time knows the difference in warm and cold market. However, for the benefit of people that may be new to the industry let me try a different approach on explaining how to increase your number of warm market prospects.
For clarification only
Warm Market = Friends, Family, Co-Workers and People that we have a good working relationship with based on trust.
Cold Market = People that we don’t know very well and or we don’t have a good working relationship with based on trust.
Let me start with the “WARM Market” Open up the address book on your cell phone and more than likely 80 plus percent of the contents stored in the address book in your cell phone qualify as “WARM Market.”
Remember NOT to Prejudge any of them
Now let’s discuss the “COLD Market” and to illustrate a point please indulge me for a moment as I draw the following analogy.
What happens when we turn on the “HOT” water faucet? In most cases we don’t instantly get “HOT” water… we don’t even get warm water. In most cases we get “COLD” water don’t we???
Life is NO different and neither is prospecting.
Our “COLD Market” is made up of all of the friends that we have yet to make and develop a good working relationship with based on trust.
The key to building your business in this industry is to constantly be looking to make new friends and be on the lookout for ways to help them get the things that they want in life.
If you haven’t read the book “The Go – Giver” yet you might want to ask Santa to get you a copy for Christmas… I strongly recommend reading it ASAP.
Also remember that you don’t want or need just anybody in your business. You only want people that you are willing to invest you time with to help them become successful. After all, our time is the only irreplaceable asset that any of have.
Be choosy, it puts you in a stronger frame of mind as well and don’t be afraid to tell someone that you don’t think that they would be a good fit for your team.
You are the CEO of your life and your business. Think like it, act like it and you will start attracting people that also want to become the CEOs of their lives.
Never forget that we are all first and foremost in the relationship building business and that is the true key to success!!!
A very important lesson that I have learned since I’ve been involved in this great industry since 1997 is that in most people’s cases, in their first experience in network marketing, their company found them.
However, for the people who make it big… most of us sought out not just a company, product or service that we could get passionate about but also an established mentor and leader that we connected with and wanted to become better friends with.
In all of my teachings about the network market industry regardless of whether it’s written, video or on the radio I always harp on the point of doing your due-diligence.
The reason that I believe this is sooooo important, is because choosing the right company, product or service is only a small part of the personal due-diligence that I feel is required if you want to succeed. I believe that every person who is truly looking to become financially free and help others to do the same by way of this industry needs to spend more time interviewing mentors than picking a great company.
After all, the person that you choose to partner up with if going to have the greatest impact on your success or failure… far more than any company, product or service.
Lastly, when you pick someone to partner up with… submit your ego, do what they tell you, be a sponge and call them every day to for advice until you can do everything they can do just as well if not better yourself. Then call them every other day and thank them for being your friend plus get their advice
Ladies and gentlemen I will be writing more and more articles here on The Goblin Network as we grow and I can promise you that if you spend an hour a week with me every Friday afternoon on the radio… I can and will, share an abundance of useful information about the network marketing industry with you free of charge with no strings attached.
Remember, the only way you can ever truly fail is to quit.
Success is a choice—here’s to yours.
